Catalogue "State Regalia of the Muscovite Tsardom"
English edition. The album contains an early part of the collection of state regalia of the Moscow Kremlin Museums, which presents attributes of the Supreme power of the Russian sovereigns of the XIV-XVII centuries. These are priceless rarities and historical relics that have no analogues in any of the Museum collections in Russia. Since ancient times, they were located in the Moscow Kremlin, the Grand Ducal and later Royal residence, and were inextricably linked with the development and formation of Russian statehood, with the most important events in the political history of Russia. Royal weddings, Embassy receptions, Royal exits and other solemn acts of state significance were spectacular, strictly regulated actions in which regalia played a special role – the sacralization of the monarch. At the same time, these monuments are of great importance as outstanding works of art, marked by an exceptionally high artistic level and virtuoso technical performance.
